Chilled yogurt snack with fried chickpea flour droplets. Purchase Chaat Masala at your locally Indian grocery or make your own (see recipe on IRT).

Ingredients

1/4 cup besan (chick pea flour)
1/2 cup water
Ghee for frying
Salt and pepper, to taste
Chaat Masala, to taste
1-1/2 cups plain yogurt (curds)
1/4 cup milk

Directions

  1. Combine the besan and 1/2 cup water and mix.
  2. Heat the ghee over medium heat and add drops of besan mixture to make boondi (try pouring through a slotted spoon).
  3. Fry boondi until golden brown, remove to a paper towel, then gently soak the boondi in warm water for 2 minutes.
  4. Squeeze the water out of the boondi and set aside.
  5. Combine milk, yogurt and salt and pepper. Add boondi.
  6. Serve chilled with sprinkle of Chaat Masala as a snack.
