This recipe calls for edible silver foil. Be sure that you use vegetarian silver-foil.

Ingredients

18 oz. khoya (substitute ricotta cheese)
1-1/4 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp. ground cardamom
2 sheets edible silver foil

Directions

  1. Mash the khoya and combine with sugar.
  2. Heat in a skillet over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens (about 8 minutes).
  3. Remove from heat and place on a smooth surface and roll to 1/2-inch thickness.
  4. Let cool, then a gently apply the silver foil, covering completely.
  5. Carefully cut into 1-1/2 inch squares.
